Physical self regulation and Patient education

There are a number of things you can do to improve the function of your TMJ and ease the pain;


  • Massage your muscles
  • avoiding foods that are hard to chew
  • doing exercises to relax your jaw and face
  • practice good posture
  • using hot or cold packs on your face


Stress management, behavioural biofeedback therapy is used to alter established neural response pathways to the initial triggering factors such as pain. Therapies can help cease harmful habits that can be exacerbating or even causing your condition.
